Pigs
We have two pairs of pigs, the KuneKune originating from New Zealand and the British native Berkshire pig, a priority breed on the ‘At Risk’ register with the Rare Breed Survival Trust. You will see the contrast between the two, one is clearly a pig that revels in rooting and being active, and the KuneKune spends most of its energy grazing, sleeping or wallowing on warm days. Despite people thinking pigs are dirty animals, they are surprisingly clean, using mud to keep themselves cool, and reducing the risk of sunburn. To find out more about the individuals, why not adopt the pigs, and get personalised information and photographs as well as a chance to meet them in person? Please email animalpark@kmc.ac.uk for more information.
